Belleair Classic Road Race Scheduled
The 7th Annual Belleair Classic 5k/10k Road Race (formerly the "Run for the Rec") will be Saturday March 7 at 7:30 am at the Dimmitt Community Center in Belleair.
A race expo is being held at the Dimmitt Community Center from 4-7pm March 5th & 6th and 6-10 am on March 7th. The pre-race discount is $15 for the 5k and $18 for the 10k until 01/31/09. Cash prizes will be awarded to female and male winners in both the 5k and 10k races.
Race Expo and Packet Pickup - Packet Pickup will be held at the Race Expo, Thursday and Friday (March 5-6) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Dimmitt Community Center, and 5:30 am to 7:15 am race morning. To avoid long lines race morning, please pick up your packet at the Expo. There will also be raffles held both days of the Expo.
Go Green! Outspokin Family Cyclery of Largo is providing a bike corral to encourage runners to ride to the race and leave their motorized vehicles at home, to support our efforts to "GO GREEN" as well as to alleviate parking problems. An additional souvenir will be given out by Outspokin Family Cyclery of Largo to those who participate.

Belleview Biltmore Will Hold Last Ball Before Re-Construction
For the past 111 years the Belleview Biltmore has hosted parties and galas on New Year's Eve in it's restaurants and ballrooms. This will be the last year before closing for massive renovations it will do so.
The Biltmore is on the National Register of Historic Places has been visited by royalty, heads of state, movie stars and professional athletes. The renovations are expected to take 2 years and will begin sometime next year.

Visiting the Belleview Biltmore during the holidays is a tradition for many people. This will be your last chance to do so for a couple of years. The resort will be closing in May for renovations that will take several years.

Belleair Shores Considers Construction Time Limits
The Belleair Shore Board of Commissioners will present a draft of an ordinance at the December meeting that would limit the amount of time a builder can take to construct a new home. The ordinance will likely have a 1 time extension before a fine is levied on the owner.

2008 Holiday Boat Parade Schedule
Island Estates: The 34th annual Memorial Holiday Boat Parade has been set for Friday December 13th. The area's largest and most popular boat parade is being organized by the Island Estates Yacht Club. Boats will gather at the South Bridge in Mandalay Channel at 6 pm, and then proceed east into the basin by Island Way Grill and the, meander through several canals before heading to Coachman Park around 8 pm, then head back following the causeway to maker 7, finally heading south to Clearwater Yacht Club. Indian Rocks Beach:Holiday Lighted Boat Parade December 20, 2008 at 7:00pm. Big or small, all boats are welcome. Vessels tour the IRB fingers via the Intracoastal Waterway, beginning at Holiday Inn Harbourside, near the Walsingham Bridge, up to the northern IRB city limits and returning to the Holiday Inn Harbourside.Visit www.IRBHOME.com for more information.

Begins at 6:20 p.m. leaving the Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club basin then passing through the Treasure Island toll bridge at 7 p.m. and finishing at John's Pass between 8 and 8:30 p.m. The parade includes the islands of Paradise, Palms and Capri. To receive a pass to watch the parade from Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club and to attend the holiday party bring a new toy to the Recreation Department at City Hall or Treasure Bay on Paradise Boulevard from Monday to Dec. 12.
